Bidding war sees Kirkby Diamond complete sale of land

March 06, 2018

A pro-active marketing campaign for a prominent piece of land in Bedford resulted in a bidding war from potential buyers.

The Bedford team was appointed by the then local owner to dispose of the 0.33 acre site, on the corner of Norse Road and Caxton Road, and quickly received several offers.

The land, which was on the market for offers of £150,000 was eventually sold well in excess of the quoted price and as part of the sale a pre-let was agreed with Screw Fix, the largest multi-channel retailer of trade tools, accessories and hardware products in the UK.

Nathan George, surveyor, said: “The fact that we received so many offers for this site demonstrates that there is a demand for land or existing units with planning permission for B1 light industrial use. Our pro-active campaign saw us using our detailed local knowledge to find the right buyers for the land, which resulted in a successful conclusion for the seller and buyer.”
